The Issue:
Komarock Estate (Gated Community), located in Komarock South Sub-Location in Embakasi Central, Nairobi, Kenya, is a well-established, controlled residential area of single-dwelling homes.
However, recent illegal multi-storey constructions are violating zoning regulations, replacing single houses with multiple units. This development threatens the estate's tranquility, infrastructure, and overall community layout. If these illegal constructions are not addressed, they will compromise our carefully planned community, leading to overcrowding and overstressing the infrastructure—roads, water supply, and sewage systems. This will degrade the quality of life for all residents and increase safety risks, potentially transforming our estate into a densely populated slum like Mathare or Pipeline.
Why This Matters:
To protect the integrity of Komarock Estate, we must act now. While the Komarock Residents Association (KRA) has faced challenges due to limited financial support and other obstacles, it remains the key body working to safeguard the community. Residents are urged to pay the annual Kshs 50 subscription (as per our constitution) and actively participate in KRA activities so the association can continue serving our needs effectively.
