Compassionate Release for Cortez Lamont Wooten

My son, Cortez Lamont Wooten, is 49 years old and has spent most of his adult life incarcerated. He made serious mistakes in his youth and has taken responsibility for them.

In 2023, he underwent two life-saving liver transplants. The first transplant failed, and he went into cardiac arrest for 25 minutes. He suffered brain bleeding, required multiple blood transfusions, and had to learn to walk again. He now takes lifelong anti-rejection medication and requires ongoing medical care.

Despite these hardships, Cortez has worked to better himself while incarcerated. He taught himself how to play the drums, wrote original songs, authored a book, and completed educational classes available to him. He is striving to make better decisions and grow as a man.

Our family is ready to provide stable housing, medical support, and guidance if he is granted compassionate release. At 49 years old and medically fragile, he deserves the opportunity to heal safely and rebuild his life.

This request is not about denying his past. It is about recognizing growth, severe medical hardship, and the belief that people can change.

Please sign and share to support compassionate release for Cortez Lamont Wooten.
