Stand up for Ohio Valley Women

Our Ohio Valley community should be safe and respectful for everyone. That's the future I'm committed to helping make. And thanks to everyone, especially our community's strong women, who are driving this improvement.Vincent DeGeorge (2025-05-19)

After watching women being objectified and attacked for standing their ground, I joined in the emails to the show's sponsors to let them know who they are supporting. I then became a victim of the attacks directly by Dimitri as he named the women who reached out to his sponsors. Instead of taking the time to listen and try to look at this from the point of view of the women he objectified, he began playing victim. If we want a better Ohio Valley for people of all backgrounds to feel safe, this type of content should not get a platform like it has already.Amy Essington (2025-05-19)

Women should feel safe and respected in public spaces, free from concerns about how their images may be utilized without explicit consent. It is equally important to recognize that harassment is unacceptable, and individuals should not feel guilty for advocating for themselves or raising awareness of inappropriate behavior toward others in their community. Targeting an individual and attempting to ruin their professional standing for speaking out is particularly troubling, especially when the issue at hand reflects a broader community concern. It is essential to foster an environment of accountability and mutual respect for all.Nancy Johnson (2025-05-19)

I am tired of seeing my fellow men get away with abhorrent behavior. It is time for those who think they hold power to know they do not, the people hold the power. And people are tired of giving Dimitri Vassilaros a platform to spread his misogyny and ignorance. If you use your career and platform to belittle other people, you don't deserve to have it. Freedom of speech means the government cannot stop your speech, not that there are no consequences for saying it.Will McKinley (2025-05-19)

Behavior like Dimitri's cannot be allowed to stand unchallenged, neither the original photos and their nonconsensual ise, nor his public attacks on those holding him to account for it. The women of the Ohio Valley deserve better than that!Jennifer Thacker (2025-05-19)

Everyone should feel safe in their community, but when people are still not understanding how to allow women to simply exist without judgement, criticism of choices, attacked based on choice of clothing or makeup, objectified based on appearance, verbally bullied because they simply don’t find someone attractive to their standards.Men do not face such challenges and can freely choose to be how they are because of gender. Certain women support these men due to previous societal expectations. Social concepts that have been in place for far too long should be questioned in fairness for equality. Antiquated beliefs, control on women, negative commentary, and belittling need to be challenged until we all can, in full confidence, feel equal and safe among society.
Every human deserves support with positivity without judgement. Emotional immaturity needs to be held accountable, educated, and motivated to achieve kindness over hatred.

Posting non-consensual photos of women, including their backsides and feet, is a disgusting display of how far we have left to go in creating an equal society. The women of the Ohio Valley, and all women, deserve better.Justice Hudson (2025-05-19)

I'm signing because I want people to be held accountable for their actions in disrespecting, objectifying, sexualizing, and demoralizing women. We are fed up with corporate misogyny and bigotry, and we will not stand for it to be acceptable to treat women, or anyone, as subhumans just because of your status in the community.Mary Reinbold (2025-05-19)

It is imperative that we begin holding Dimitri—and individuals who embody similar behaviors—fully accountable. Too often, men like him have navigated life without meaningful consequences, self-reflection, or any real effort to evolve in their mindset, behavior, or presence in the world. What we’re witnessing extends far beyond simple bullying. This is deeply rooted misogyny, and it has no place in any community. Equally troubling are those who enable or defend such conduct, choosing willful ignorance over integrity.
If growth and accountability are not willingly embraced, then it becomes our responsibility to demand it.

Accountability, consent, and treating others with dignity and respect are vital to making Wheeling a community worth living in. If someone has a local platform (radio/media) and uses that to leverage power over women (or anyone) in our community; we have a responsibility to stand up to that unacceptable behaviorTyler (2025-05-19)

Women deserve the right to say stop or no and be respected. No one needs to be subjected to, nor tolerate harassment, objectification and unwelcome touch, attention and other behavior which makes them uncomfortable or feel unsafe. Certainly invasion of privacy by publishing photos without consent, and cropped or shot to suggest a sexual message is understood to be included in this.No means no! The subjects of Dmitri’s comments and photos have the right to expect that the photos be taken down when requested to do so. His decision to leave them up and complaining about he himself being the victim is unacceptable, and disrespectful. Women deserve respect. As do we all.

This “shock jockey’s” statements and actions appall me. What is most appalling is that he still doesn’t “get it.” A public apology and some education would be first steps. If he doesn’t concede, he needs to go.Diane Thompson (2025-05-20)

Dimitri is a pervert, a bully, a shit stirrer who has no remorse. He takes pleasure in making other people's life hell. He is a menace to society and should not be allowed to have a public forum with which to spew his lies and defamation. He needs to be removed from the air waves.

I am signing this petition because Dimitri Vassilaros must be held accountable for his actions...this must not be permitted to go without consequences. He has a history of inflammatory comments designed to cause ill will among the community...he is no more than a small-town gossip. This latest foray of sharing personal images of women at a charity event via social media-without their express permission-is shameful and disrespectful. For too long, Mr. Vassilaros has been privileged to have an audience but this behavior cannot go unanswered. He is NOT someone who represents the Ohio Valley.Stacey McAllister (2025-05-20)
