Speed cameras will be retrospective and will not safeguard the school children crossing that section of road. A traffic circle and rumble strips in both directions will be more effective. Too many people cut into the traffic from the side roads as well. Speed cameras will not stop that from happening either.

I think it's imperative that measures be taken to limit the amount of accidents, however besides just a camera the road needs speed grids That will alert drivers to slow down.

 

A traffic circle will not work because it's a route used by buses.

I have lived on Elaine Street, which is off Swartgoud Street for more than 20 odd years & have witnessed some horrific accidents, yes some with cars in swimming pools & others in bedrooms let alone loss of life. Some rainy days as much as several accidents in a short space of time on Swartgoud Street. Therefore I sign this petition and do believe that camera's or speed breakers should be erected on the bend or as deemed fit by the City Roads Department to avoid further loss of life and accidents.

I live in the area and the reoccurrences of accidents on this bend has increased tremendously and is unsafe. During rainy seasons there are sometimes three accidents within a three hour period which is completely dangerous and harmful

I live in the area and feel that the bend is hugely problematic. My husband was in an accident there after another motorist caught dead brakes to belatedly turn off Swartgoud. We need to slow people down as they come up and down the road.

i have lived in this area for many years and travel down swartgoud daily and it is scary the speed some ppl drive on it especially when u are waiting to turn into Elaine st always scared somone hits me from behind , speed bumps or robot would also be ideal
