Good evening everyone,

I'm happy to say that after months of disputing this issue, the SPOA Board has agreed to drop the fines until the end of February 2021 and implement the requested leniency allowances! 

135 residents signed this petition, and it's greatly reassuring to know that they eventually listened to our requests. Not all requests on the petition were instated, but this is a great achievement and will surely help many residents.

Speeding fine adjustment petition amendment

Good day All,

I hope you are well and enjoying your long weekend!

I have some good news. The SPOA has agreed to meet on the 25th March 2021 between 10 am - 2 pm. I will send you the exact time once finalised. If you are interested in joining the meeting, please reply to this message. 

I have also reviewed all the comments on the petition, and there were several requests to relook at the fine charges amounts taking AARTO into consideration. This was the only area that was not covered in the petition, and as such, I'd like to put the below amendment forward for consideration. The below table applies the 10% leeway we requested to be reinstated and allows for fines to be issued in R250 increments as per AARTO.  If you disagree with this clause being added, please comment on this message stating so. If 50% disagree, then we will not add this to the petition.

Just a quick update on the petition progress. I've been liaising with the SPOA for the past 10 days to arrange a meeting with them. They seem resistant to wanting to meet, but I will provide you with further feedback as soon as I have a date.
