History is important whether flattering or unflattering. It happened. We can learn from it!

(Loganville, 2020-06-30)

#803

Monuments are a part of history and should not be removed! History keeps us from repeating the past!

(Loganville, 2020-06-30)

#806

That's apart of our history and should be left alone. Don't feed into this bs, please.

(Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#810

Because I'm fed up with only a few "offended" people being the majority !

(Loganville, 2020-06-30)

#811

This is my HISTORY! And I’m mad as heck. Leave it alone!
I spent many days with my daddy at that courthouse while he was sitting and chatting with friends. To take it down will erase some of my most fond memories.

(Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#813

I want monuments in Walton county Goergia to stay where they are and remain protected.

(Statham, 2020-06-30)

I believe that the statues are a STRONG part in our American history and culture.
They are early members of family, most still living.
They SHOULD REMAIN INTACT AND PROTECTED.
What about removing Martin Luther kings statchues, no one cares about his except the Blacks.

There's a reason the Jewish community asked not to tear down Auschwitz. So that we would always remember what happened and never allow it again. That speaks volumes to me. Dont erase history because it hurts your feelings. Remember the past so that we can continue to learn from it.

(Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#841

I'm signing this petition because the false narrative behind the push to remove the monument needs to be confronted.
The Confederacy stood for states rights over Federal overreach. The Confederacy my ultimately lost the war, but the right of the state to govern itself was reinforced.
Those that fought for the rights of the state should be recognized and not demonized.

(Monro, 2020-07-01)

#843

I am signing because I refuse to allow the minority voices in our society dictate how the majority should live. That goes against our constitution and the ideals of democracy handed down from the Greeks, and argued by Locke and Montisque, and stated in our Declaration of Independence

(Monroe, 2020-07-01)

History does not need to be erased. And if we are going to do it then remove every thing.
