Here is the revised statement:

On February 9, 2025, a horrific incident occurred in the eFarm location near Harding, where Mlungisi Eric Zabo Ntanzi-Ndawonde was brutally murdered by a mob of men in the early hours of the morning. Allegedly, a fight had broken out between the deceased and the tavern owner, who were neighbors and well-acquainted, which the deceased won, leaving the tavern owner embarrassed and resentful. In a shocking turn of events, the tavern owner allegedly called upon a group of men from the area, falsely accusing the deceased of being a thief who had stolen cows, and inciting them to attack him. As the deceased walked home, he was ambushed by a group of at least 7 men, who brutally assaulted him, resulting in his tragic death.

The fact that these individuals allegedly resorted to violence and murder, based on a false accusation, is a chilling reminder that our communities are not safe. The mere presence of such individuals, who are capable of committing heinous crimes, puts everyone's life at risk. It is unacceptable that people are living in fear of their lives, and it is imperative that justice is served.

What is even more disturbing is that the tavern owner, who knew the deceased personally and lived in the same community, chose to incite violence against him instead of resolving their differences peacefully. Furthermore, the 7 men who participated in the brutal attack could have stopped at any moment, but they chose to continue their assault, showing a blatant disregard for human life. Not one of them thought to call the police or an ambulance.

The impact of their actions is immeasurable. The deceased was a father and breadwinner, leaving behind children who are now forced to rely on their unemployed grandmother and grant money for survival. The thought of these individuals being released on bail is unconscionable. If they are granted bail, what message are we sending to the community? That violence and murder are acceptable, and that those who commit such heinous crimes will be allowed to walk free? This would be a travesty of justice and would only serve to perpetuate a culture of violence and impunity.

We urge the court to deny bail to these individuals and ensure that they face the full force of the law. The safety of our communities depends on it. We cannot afford to have individuals who are willing to kill walking free among us. Justice demands that those responsible are held accountable, and we will not rest until justice is served. The people of our community deserve to feel safe, and it is the responsibility of our justice system to ensure that they are protected.
