My son attends this daycare and as a parent I understand the need for ether an up grade or equality better structure around the centre, highway and side road, this could ether be traffic lights at the intersection and on side road( Kensington road) a keep clear zone, carpark to be allowed from rear streets, ect something needs to be done !!! For the kids and for the workers at the centre and parents accessing this area, in short no is not good enough and to think the centre has tried there best to head this off and to be meet with No! The safety of our children should be the highest priority when considering the requests for a safety barrier or bollards to be installed. It is unreasonable to expect that the likelihood of a severe car accident impacting on the childcare centre and its staff and patrons is low considering there have been 2 car accidents on that intersection in the past 24hrs alone.

I’m signing because it is clear not sufficient risk assessments and planning has been undertaken in terms of location in allowing the construction of the daycare centre. The proposed new facility opposite the primary school will also cause significant traffic and safety issues.
COGG is ultimately responsible for all planning and infrastructure .. they should be doing all they can to prevent the likelihood of safety incidents and accidents, they should also be held accountable for the outcome of any failures of their processes.
