Please sign this petition. Richard has been a friend for around 15 years and is known as a loving hard working family man. He is not violent but is a communicator at every level and this maximum sentence is a total travesty! Nobody can understand how he can have been given the maximum sentence for a self defence. He has never been in trouble with the police before, he has now lost his job and the support he has always given to his children. I have been, like so many others who know him, at a complete loss at this whole situation.

Hope he gets out very soon. some may say he got what he deserved but in comparison to what people have got off scot free with is outrageous. The media have printed mostly lies about Ruby and the reason he has got this harsh sentence is because of his beliefs. The truth will be out soon enough. Ruby maybe doing the time that only he can injure but they are plenty of people in his corner and the state and any person against ruby can not and will not break Ruby's spirit the chapter in his life will only strengthen his belief and ours.

 Thank you for your interest in Ruby's plight, and I would agree with you, if what has been printed in the press was accurate. It isn't however. Ruby acted in self defence but has been punished for his beliefs, not what actually happened. In a land of free speech and free thought, how can that be right? May I ask, if you don't agree with these freedoms, who is really the fascist?

i believe Ruby has been wrongfully convicted,from what i have read,everyone deserves the right to self defence,especially when provoked,as was the case,i strongly believe,there has been a miscarriage of justice,and therefore,i believe he should be released,and allowed to be able to get on with his life,free.

 Hmm. A waste of time you say? And yet here you are again, South Wales Unite Against Fascism checking to make sure that one man hasn't got too much support. This isn't about race or right or left. This is about showing support for a man who was judged too harshly based on what he is, rather than who he is and what actually happened on that day and exposing, dare I say it, the corruption and inequality of the British judicial system. 

Please stop using this as a way to spread your hatred.

It seems to me that this was self defence. Self defence is a HUMAN RIGHT. If 'the boot were on the other foot' I guarantee the Moslem would have been fined at most! I don't expect British (or non-Moslems) to receive a higher level of justice, but the same level of justice would be nice!
