Stop Sign for Barbara

The residents on Barbara Street are asking you to please help us keep our street safe by placing a stop sign on the corner of 34th and Barbara Street in San Pedro. Ever since the Paseo Del Mar landslide in November of 2011, the traffic on our quiet neighborhood street has increased dramatically. Unfortunately, a lot of drivers do not respect the fact that their new route between Paseo Del Mar and Western ave. or 25th street is a residential street and the number of cars that race through the neighborhood at alarming speeds is very disturbing. Friday and Saturday nights are especially bad. Many residents on the street have began to lose their patience and are becoming very aggitated and some times confrontational with these speeders. We feel that a stop sign on our block would help slow the traffic on our street and return a little bit of the peacefullness we once enjoyed. Since it seems that Paseo Del Mar will not be repaired any time soon, it is time to address the impact that has been made on the surrounding neighborhoods. PLEASE place a stop sign on 34th and Barbara BEFORE someone gets hurt, not after! Thank you.
