PETITION TO THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF EKURHULENI REGARDING THE CONTINUOUS ELECTRICITY FAILURES IN KEMPTON PARK X2–4

We, the residents of Kempton Park X2–4, hereby petition the City Manager of the City of Ekurhuleni regarding the continuous electricity failures affecting our area and the ongoing hardship experienced by residents and businesses.
We demand that the Municipality:
Ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply to Kempton Park X2–4.
Take urgent action to prevent cable theft and vandalism at substations and electrical infrastructure.
Hold contractors accountable for damage caused to electrical cables and infrastructure during maintenance or repair work.
Cancel or review contracts of contractors who repeatedly damage municipal electrical infrastructure through negligence.
Conduct regular operations against illegal electricity connections in the area.
Improve response times to electricity outages and provide regular communication to residents regarding repairs and progress.
Increase security and monitoring at substations and high-risk electrical infrastructure points.
The ongoing electricity interruptions negatively impact the safety, security, businesses, and daily lives of all residents. We therefore call on the City of Ekurhuleni to treat this matter as urgent and to implement sustainable solutions without delay.
If you agree with the above demands, please sign this petition.
