Maintain Himalaya Canal for Drainage and access to Lake Verret

1) Himalaya Canal is important to local residents and land owners in Lower Texas including Georgia Farms and Himalaya Tract for drainage.

2) Himalaya Canal provides access to Lake Verret.   Because of neglect and failure to remove fallen trees and debris the canal is becoming shallower and less navigable. 

Our parish government does not  believe Himalaya Canal is worth the expense. It has been said that only a few people use the landing and they do not recognize that it is important for drainage.

Recent  restoration problems and NO definet completion date to the Attakapas Landing means that the only nearby access to the lake is a privat landing.

For years there have been promises to clean out this canal..  No more promises. Let the parish know we exist and demand that something be done NOW!!
