Have Sheila Kay-Machiskinic removed from band council

Members of Kawacatoose First Nation demand the immediate removal of Councillor Sheila Kay-Machiskinic.For the following reasons:

1. Breach of oath of office #4 and #6; she did not represent herself with honour nor integrity.

 

2. Breach of oath of office #16, her commitment to remain alcohol free.

Therefore We the people of Kawacatoose call upon Chief and Council; being the governing body of our nation, protectors of the nations people, who by signing the oath of office have committed to the fairness, justice and safety of Us the nations members ; for the immediate and just removal of Sheila Kay-machiskinic.

Furthermore All elected councillors and Chief upon taking office May, 2018, formerly swore an oath to uphold their position in office with integrity, honesty, and honor. All elected leadership on May 2018 swore to uphold their official duties in manner becoming their position and they committed implicitly in their sworn oath to keep the “trust” of Kawacatoose membership.

Sheila Kay Machiskinic physically and verbally assaulted a band member of Kawacatoose First Nation.  We state the actions of violence by Sheila Kay Machiskinic towards a young mother whose infant was in her arms, violates the Oath of Office #4, # 6 and violated the “trust” of the membership. We further state that Sheila Kay-Machiskinic has a history of verbally abusive behavoirs directed at band member which is documented in forms of complaints to Chief and coucil. Furthermore her repeated public intoxication violates the Oath of Office and we call upon Chief and Council of Kawacatoose First Nation to act on their Sworn Oaths of Office and act accordingly, with the immediate removal of Sheila Kay Machiskinic as member of Kawacatoose First Nation governing body.
