Please we need to get a new premises for this lovely nursery, that have seen generations of children from our local community go to. It's being closed just because it doesn't fit in with look of the main school so is being forced to close.

I think this is disgusting I have one child that has been there another still there
These children deserve to have somewhere to go and socialise with other children
And have a good start in life before they start school and that is what they get by
Being at Doversgreen nursery and not forgetting the girls that will lose their jobs.
They work hard to care for our children and make them feel safe and loved.

I am absolutely shocked and saddened at the at decision to close Dovers Green Playgroup, with it's friendly staff and age appropriate facilities I can not see how it is anything but detrimental to shut down this Playgroup that has been situated on Dover's Green School's site since the year 2000.


As a mother of five young children, I pride myself on my children having a great education and being punctual. My two eldest children attend Dovers Green School and are always two of the first in line at the start of the day. My daughter currently attends Dovers Green Playgroup and has been thriving since she first began attending. The location allows for all of my children to have the education they deserve. But now I am left with no other choice than to remove my daughter from education completely.


My daughter, who turns four in December, misses out on starting school this September - despite being academically and socially ready - so with all other local playgroups at full capacity after allocation in April, she is now forced to spend 9 months at home until she begins school full time in September 2015, without otherwise disrupting my sons' education to find somewhere further afield. With them having speech and language difficulties and the progress they are currently making at Dovers Green School, this is not an option.


How it can be seen positive in any situation to remove a child, let alone 40, from a successful, social and educational environment is beyond me. Not only are the staff facing losing their jobs, but many of these children are losing their right to an education. All at the cost of the building being outdated. It's barbaric.

I cannot begin to say how brilliant this nursery is I have one child that is leaving this year to start school, she was very shy of people she did know when she started there and to look at her now, what a difference, she's confident, bubbly, happy, eager to learn, loves all her teachers, she kind and considerate and she is more than ready to go to school, because of the nurturing, loving, safe and inviting environment that this little nursery has created over the many years that it has been open. Everyone in the class talks to everyone else in the class, and it's a fun place to be. When I have to tell her there is no school today I get the biggest tears I have ever seen, and for a child to talk about her school constantly even at the weekend it must be a good place to be, I have to drag her away when it is time to go home.

Her little Sister has done her first year with Doversgreen Playgroup and she is one of the children directly affected by this closure if it happens. She has just started to come out of her shell after spending nearly 8 months standing and watching the other children most of the time rather than joining in and being herself. Outside of school it's a different matter but again around people she doesn't know she too is very shy. Just lately I have noticed a difference in her behaviour, she's talking about school more now and what she has done there and she loves doing the art projects. I also have a big problem with her not wanting to get messy, and finally I have noticed she's happier to play in sand and paint now. When I told her that she might only be there until December this year(after having told her earlier in the year that she would be starting mornings in September she cried so much and asked me where was she going to go instead, and I had to tell her that there are no more places in the local area....and only being 3 years old I'm not sure she understood, but she cried lots more.

I would also like for my son when he is old enough to be able to attend this nursery, I want him to have the best start in life and I believe with all my heart that this nursery is the best around. I believe very strongly that this little nursery should not be closed down, I think that it would be bad for the local children and for the local parents. Not forgetting that it will leave the girls there without a job to go to and that is a waste of a well working group of very caring, fun and imaginative people that have a way with children that brings out the best in every one of them. It's a crime to close them down!

Come on you officials,If there are petty rules ..BEND THEM,after all its done all the time to suit at government level,every day of the year.This group deserves some speciasl attention.. Little children need pre education ,& should not be denied this by lack of facilities,or a place to attend,You Mums KEEP SHOUTING...Both you & your children deserve all the attention your petition can get ..You can rely on ours..Pete & Pat Tyler
