I have been with Watford Girls Academy for four years. Its a fantastic football team, and all the girls have learnt so much. I am completely devastated! Why have the FA done this?

The FA should be ashamed of what they are doing, they call FIFA a disgrace. I think Kay Cossington and her colleagues need to have a good look at themselves.

It is a total disgrace to make decisions like this that impact so many. I once said I could never be surprised by FA decisions any more but they have succeeded once again. A decision that beggars belief - I find myself staggered, shocked and overwhelmingly disappointed that they could feel that the closure of the Watford C of E is in the best interests of the country's centre of excellence programme. Ridiculous.

Shocking, truly shocking. If the FA could remember it's pledge to grow the women's game in this country then surely,not only would it automatically renew the licence to the club with over 10 years of success in the ladies game, but would actually grow the amount of centres of excellence!!! Its is very clear the FA is not keen that the womens games succeeds!!

The Watford Girls school of excellence has done outstanding work over the years. It will be a shame to throw away such a successful set-up. Also the position of this particular School of Excellence, close to the M1 and the M25 makes it perfect for a large catchment area. Please reconsider!

Please can you sign this petition to save Watford’s girls centre of excellence. They do so much good work to get young girls into football. Watford ladies currently play in the woman’s premier league and without the centre of excellence the team is likely to suffer. Over ten years the centre has produced many international players and this will also be a big blow for Nations as well.
The centre has won awards and in February they scored highly in 14 out of 15 areas by the FA. It is so important that the FA grant Watford there licence to operate the centre to help enable girls from all over Watford and beyond to work towards fulfilling their dreams to one day become a footballer.

This is a ridiculous decision. I have played against Watford CofE for 8 years and they have always been a fantastic standard. They are far better than many centres who have been allowed to keep their license and it is a travesty that they have been closed!
