Campaign For Free Afghan Lovers
Zakia, 18, and Mohammad Ali, 21, fled their homes in mountainous Bamian Province after her family threatened her with an “honor killing” because she wanted to marry outside her ethnic group, and against her father’s wishes. They got married by a mullah after being kept apart by disapproving families and now Zakia is pregnant.
Zakia said her family, members of the Tajik ethnic group and Sunni Muslims, opposed the match because Mohammad Ali is a Hazara and Shiite.
Yesterday Mohammad Ali, the husband, was captured by six of his male in-laws on a street in downtown Kabul and dragged to a police station. The authorities booked him on a charge of kidnapping, which carries the death penalty in Afghanistan.
Please help Zakia and Mohammad Ali, love is not a crime.

این زوج عاشق، از کودکی یکدیگر را دوست داشتند و چند ماه پیش که با هم ازدواج کردند، با مخالفت خانواده زکیه روبرو شدند. پس از آنکه خانواده ی زکیه آنها را تهدید به مرگ کردند، آنها مجبور شدند از منطقه فرار نموده و ماه ها به شکل مخفیانه در کوه ها و مناطق دور دست زندگی کنند.
زکیه و محمد علی در حالی از سوی پلیس کابل بازداشت می شوند، که روزانه ده ها قاتل، تروریست و جانی دسته دسته از زندان های افغانستان آزاد می شوند.
عاشق بودن و دوست داشتن جرم نیست و حکومت افغانستان حق ندارد کسی را به خاطر دوست داشتن زندانی کند.
