I believe we should protect the few spaces in Singapore that encourage us to spend more time away from screens, to be in touch with nature, to support locally grown produce, get inspired to look at food being grown locally and grow our own food - especially in times of global shipping crises like now - and most importantly as a way for the future generation to learn the process and the effort that goes into the food that they receive on their plates.

I have been to Bollywood Farms more than 10 times in my life from its opening in 2000 until 2010s. From when I was a young child, teenager, youth, and adult. The tours by the founders are wonderful, the food made from local and regional produce is amazing. The calm and quiet there is so beautiful and special. It's a remnant of a slower, mindful way of living that we will need to have access to in Singapore. One of the only farms that also welcomes leisurely visits, not just for profit. This is land that educates, births intentional living, and appreciation of nature and community-run hang out spaces. The lake/big pond in the backyard is also very special - let the Ivy and her team continue being guardians of it. Thank you.

Bollywood Veggies and the Poison Ivy Cafe are a must for me to bring ALL my visiting tourist friends and when I want a good meal. It's a beacon of eco light in urban Singapore that never fails to amaze foreigners. They are unique and a beautiful first (and only) farm + restaurant in our precious and dwindling Singapore 'countryside'. We have to appreciate, love and preserve.

I want people who are making decisions to know that Singapore is not just about making money and constant development. We need space to cater to reconnecting with nature outside of parks and gardens as well - if we don't have spaces where children know the value of food by knowing where it comes from, we will deepen the urban disconnect even further.

I first visited Bollywood Farms as a kid and I LOVED the experience. The banana cake is still etched in my memory. Please keep Bollywood Farms going so I can let my kid have the same experience.

I’m very sad to hear that Bollywood Farms may have to close.

I visited from the UK and was so impressed by the work being done there. Having run an organic produce distribution business for many years, I strongly support organic farming, and this place really stands out.

My daughter, who recently spent a year studying at Nanyang Technological University, also visited the farm and found it a wonderful place to unwind, a perfect stress reliever while revising for her exams.

It’s a beautiful farm with an incredible variety of vegetables, fruits, and plants, a place where nature is allowed to flourish. After spending time in the busy, built-up areas of Singapore, visiting the farm was refreshing and restorative. There is simply no other place like it in Singapore.

Surely such a small parcel of land could be preserved for this important project, supporting education, community connection, and local small business. And the café is wonderful too.

I very much hope a way can be found to keep Bollywood Farms going.

This farm is important to so many in SG and really a view into the past of what nature can provide- the only ones with any memory of this are the older generations. I am 47 and I am afraid my daughter will never know what a farm is. Singapore is so many great things, but sometimes the focus is too much on having everything new and not saving the old ways. It can be both and is so important for future generations.

Bollywood Farms & Ivy is a unique combination. They serve the community in many ways, to educate, to connect, to sustain. It will be Singapore’s loss to erase this space.

I'm signing because Bollywood Farm brings me peace and a chance to connect back w nature and to look at all these different plants as education! I have so much fond memories because I go there for lunch everytime I go Sungei Buloh or Kranji Marshes for a walk. It's my favourite playground, nature and restaurant place!!

My husband and I love to go to Bollywood veggies to relax and recuperate from the stress of our lives. I bring my primary school students there and they love being in nature in a safe and nurturing environment. They learn so much from being at Bollywood Veggies. One of my students who was feeling depressed in school joined the nature club and went for a learning journey to Bollywood Veggies. It was so wonderful to see her so happy and relaxed. Please do not take Bollywood Veggies from us for the sake of our mental health. The beautiful farm has given me and my students wonderful memories of being in nature in a safe setting.

Ridiculous decision to close this. This is quite literally a piece of Singapore’s heritage at this point. And it’s not like it’s quiet too. Still seeing a good amount of people visiting on weekends. Massive mistake for the ruling party if this closure happens.

We need Bollywood Veggies Farm to stay — it’s the last remaining organic farm and community that we know of. Singaporeans need a connection to nature in its organic form, feel the earth on our feet, and to be able to personally participate in the act of growing and caring for the soil and plants. Especially in an era where technology has us so removed from the natural world, there are invaluable lessons one can learn nowhere else but at a farm like this. It’s the last of the Kampong spirit that we are losing. It is critical and crucial for Bollywood Veggies Farm to continue as a space for all to have a personal relationship to our natural environment, for the wellbeing of our planet and our own physical and mental health. We cannot afford to lose yet another organic community farm. It takes decades for healthy soil and nature to be cultivated, it is cruel to strip that all away. Please reconsider what we are losing!

Bollywood Farms is more than just a workplace to me. It is a space that has shaped my growth, values, and future. Having worked there for the past four years, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact it has not only on its employees, but also on the wider community in Singapore. For these reasons, I strongly believe that its lease should be extended.

When I first joined Bollywood Farms, I was simply looking for a job. What I found instead was a place of learning and purpose. Over the years, I have gained valuable skills in sustainable farming, teamwork, and customer engagement. These are not just technical abilities, but life skills that have made me more confident, responsible, and adaptable. The farm has given me opportunities that I might not have found elsewhere, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally.

Beyond my individual experience, Bollywood Farms plays an important role in promoting sustainability and awareness about local agriculture. In a fast-paced, urban environment like Singapore, spaces like this are rare and essential. The farm serves as an educational hub where visitors can learn about where their food comes from and the importance of supporting local produce. Losing such a place would mean losing an important connection between people and nature.

The sense of community at Bollywood Farms is another reason why it deserves to continue operating. It brings together people from all walks of life, workers, volunteers, families, and visitors, who share a common appreciation for nature and healthy living. As someone who has been part of this community for years, I have seen how it fosters meaningful relationships and creates a supportive environment for everyone involved.

Extending the lease of Bollywood Farms would not only secure jobs like mine, but also preserve a meaningful space that contributes to Singapore’s social and environmental landscape. For me personally, it represents stability, growth, and hope for the future. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities it has given me, and I hope that others will continue to benefit from it for many years to come.

Every other place in Singapore looks the same. Sterile, perfect curated and pretty much just concrete and plastic mostly. We need spaces like Bollywood Farms so that we can reconnect with nature when we need to

Bollywood farms has been a staple to our local scene and life that has been tended to with care and love by the owners with decades of hard work. Such places cannot be easily found again once removed. It must not happen.

Bollywood Farms is a rare gem in Singapore! With the closure of so many other farms and natural spaces, maintaining what is left should be priority! Farms such as Bollywood Farms have offered a space for people to gather, people to learn about growing and wildlife, people to enjoy the outdoors, and above all, it’s a space for food growing, cultivation, protection of biodiversity, and a home for wildlife. Singapore is becoming increasingly urbanised and curated, pushing what is natural to the brink of non-existence. Bollywood Farms is an incredibly valuable heritage place and cannot be gone!

Bollywood Farms is not just a farm, but a community. It demonstrates what is possible for Singapore, to be something more than just a concrete jungle. If we want to hit our goal of 30 by 30, places like Bollywood Farm must exist.

Singapore’s countryside should be preserved. There’s charm in a quirky place in nature and it should not all be big buildings big brands and chains. That takes life and warmth out of Singapore.
