PETITION TO CLOSE "The Simela Lounge" DUE TO ONGOING RUSH AND NOISE DISTURBANCES

We, the undersigned multiracial, family orientated middleclass residents of Birchleigh and Glen Marais, formally petition the Ekurhuleni MMC for Commuity Safety, requesting the immediate revocation of the liquor and operating licenses for The Stimela Lounge, located at Pretoria Road, Kempton Park, next to Engen Garage Lakefield and oposite Birhcliegh Train Station, nearest corner, Eligin & Vlei Road (Previously YaYa Pub and Chill Bar).
Reasons for This Request:
- Constant Noise: The venue is blatantly guilty of persitstent noise polution, playing excessively loud music and hosting disruptive crowds late into the night.
- Residential Area: The establishment operates directly within a quiet neighborhood, next to schools and retirement homes, shattering the peace of local families.
- Health Impact: Sleep deprivation is severely affecting the health, well-being, and children of this community.
- Environmental Degradation: The area is getting a negative reputation and degrades the environment and peace and quiet.
- Diminishing Property Values: Diminishing the neighborhood character, value and safety causing property values to fall.
- Many Years of Inaction: Residents have documented and reported these violations consistently for over many years.
- No Improvement: Stimela Management and Owner has ignored all official warnings, community complaints, and law enforcement interventions.
The peaceful family orientated Birchliegh and Glen Marais community has run out of patience. We have a right to peace, safety, and quiet enjoyment of our homes and area and retention of decent property values. We urge the authorities to take immediate action and close this establishment permanently and prevent issueing similar operating lisences to future tentants in this area and site.
