The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew Anime deserves a full English dub that respects the original Japanese script and covers all 52 episodes. The 4Kids version was heavily localized, like changing the character names, and editing Zakuro's Weapon to not resemble A Cross, and it has only dubbed 26 episodes, leaving much of the story incomplete for English-speaking fans.
That matters because Tokyo Mew Mew is not just a nostalgic title; it is a series with many environmental themes that many fans still want to experience in a faithful format. When only half the anime is dubbed, and when the adaptation changes the tone and meaning so much, new viewers are kept from the story that made the series impactful in the first place.
Sentai Filmworks, Studio Pierrot (The Anime Studio Also Behind Naruto) , and Kodansha should work together to license, produce, and release a complete uncut English dub of Tokyo Mew Mew, with all 52 episodes adapted as faithfully as possible to the original Japanese dialogue. That would give longtime fans the version they have been asking for and would make the series easier to discover for a new audience that prefers accurate dubs.
The solution is straightforward: a new, complete dub with proper translation, original names and terms preserved where appropriate, and no unnecessary localization that changes the intent of the story. A full release would finally let English-speaking viewers watch the series as a complete work instead of an unfinished and heavily altered adaptation.
The decision is in the hands of Sentai Filmworks, Studio Pierrot, and Kodansha, and it should be made now while interest in this classic magical-girl anime remains strong. Please move forward with a faithful 52-episode uncut English dub of Tokyo Mew Mew, and release the series in a way that honors the original material.
