Palm Ridge and Extensions Power Outages

We the residents of Palm Ridge and Extensions in Germiston, City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, have had to endure numerous power outages every week since the inception of loadshedding stage 6. 

We petition the Mayor Cllr Sivuyile Ngodwana, the MMC Cllr Leshaka Manamela, The City Manager Dr Imogen Mashazi to investigate the high number of outages, the exact reason thereof and provide a comprehensive report to the Residents affected. The report should be made public as soon as possible but no later than the next full council meeting. 

The Metro does not seem to be able to handle the situation and plan accordingly. There has been no communication to the cause of these outages and a plan forward on how it will be resolved. The businesses and residents of the area are deeply affected by the power outages, which result in loss of business and income, food items losses, electronic equipment, appliances damages and severely compromising the well-being and care of the sick, elderly and frail. 

We reserve the right to escalate this petition to other spheres of government if the issues are not adequately addressed.
