We, the undersigned, stand together in opposition to changing of Wyandanch Warriors to the Wyandanch Wolves. The name "Warriors" is not just a mascot — it’s a tribute to the fight our community has endured and continues to endure. We are Warriors because we’ve fought for our rights, our education, and our presence in spaces where we were once excluded — from schools to parks to leadership tables. The name carries the weight of our history, our struggle, and our strength. To erase “Warriors” is to erase that legacy. This isn’t about tradition for tradition’s sake — it’s about honoring the journey of generations who fought to build and protect this community. Changing the name weakens that message.
