Mda is just a ministry they have no constitutional right to change and restrict our constitution. We want the government in parliament to censor the authority of mda.

nothing will come out of it. this whole thing will only show they have totally lost touch on the ground (in that they totally didn't think it would be interpreted as censorship attempt, or that they think any backlash is just a mozzie buzzing ard), or that they are just that incompetent (unable to draft out a proper regulation with proper wording and considering all impt factors, communicate properly with public, or just not listen ignore everything others would have to say.

only 2016 can open their eyes and ears. or something like the drivers' protest / climb-crane-top expeditions / secret hp videoing then they'll realise it's not what they always assumed to be whinging complains.

Singapore ranks lower than Zimbabwe on the World Press Freedom Index (2013). So much for being a first world nation. The people must find its voice soon, or have it taken away forever.

The tyranny of this despotic regime knows no limits. If they need to be taken down a notch before they understand the virtue of a democracy, so be it. Let no right-minded person support this impending age of terror.

it's funny how they wan others to write only the right thing, but what they write is full of flaws and fully open to interpretation to the opposite of what they supposedly intended to be.

it may seems that it's actually better to openly admit they are trying to censor the internet (a strong stance) rather than admit they made terrible mistakes in poorly worded and poorly thought out regulations (fundamental incompetence)

Governments should refrain from restricting the flow of information on the internet, and the private sector should not be in charge of policing it, a United Nations advisor on freedom of opinion and expression said last week in a report. (June 2011)

Frank La Rue of Guatemala, the UN special rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, warned against the attempts by some governments to muzzle information on internet. In his report [pdf], La Rue stressed that “the full guarantee of the right to freedom of expression must be the norm, and any limitation considered as an exception, and that this principle should never be
reversed.”

20. Indeed, the Internet has become a key means by which individuals can exercise their

This is ridiculous. Can the Internet be really regulated? We are now indeed moving backward instead of moving forward.

This policy is a step back for our fledgling democracy. In a free democracy,we should accept all voices whether critical or in agreement. Please retract this policy and apologize your wrong judgement.

Actually I dun give a hoot about how Singapore is changed politically any more, I dun even consider Singapore my home; I am just a passerby. But controlling the Internet that is the straw that broke my camel's back. Is it just because MDA cannot collect Radio/TV License not want to collect Internet because it is more money in it ??
