Even if North Coates was not part of our aviation heritage and a very useful and attractive facility for light aviation, it is utter madness to subsidize wind generation of electricity to the current extent which is bound to attract the Smart Winds of this world who are only interested in short term profit.

I am totally in favour of wind turbine technology and development, but only when planned in collaboration with existing communities.
I hope that this element of CSR will be taken into account in planning for wind farm expansion.

 Local Councils and Property Developers are killing GA in the UK, not helped by Government who have put the Safeguarding of the areas round the Airports in the hands of the Airport Landowners unless you are a designated airport such as the majors. Local Planners do not understand and the Landowners want to maximise their return on their asset. Shoreham will be next, have a look at the Adur Strategic Plan and the football academy at the end of 25.

If there really must be windfarms, why the hell can't they be placed offshore? Why destroy people's livelihoods and our history just for a few measly kilowatts of inefficiently generated electricity?

It is sickening that our politicians see fit to 'develop' wartime RAF stations by allowing them to be dug up for quarrying or allowing the (sometimes unique) buildings upon them to be torn down.

Thousands died for our freedom flying from those stations, instead of ugly, tombstone style memorials, proper respect should be given to the historical buildings and sites where they served.

The current state sanctioned vandalism is disgraceful, makes me ashamed to be British.

This airfield has a great history and a personal interest,my mother was stationed there in the second world war. Also ans as important it serves a much needed amenity in this part of Lincolnshire

Lovely airfield. Why do councils continue allow our smaller airfields to be threatened in this way with no consideration for local benefits?

This development seems to affect most of the area in different ways. We face a substation 750 metres from our village. We lose too must history as it is without another airfield being lost.

An option exists that allows both the airfield and windfarm to co exist! Common sense would say take that option.

I'm ex WRAF Signals RAF Binbrook & look what happened there!! I visited RAF North Coates frequently. Please stop the rot before it sets in.

It is inconceivable that a wind farm cannot be placed in another area without compromising the existence of a long established and much frequented airstrip

North Coates Airfield

Please save this historic little airfield, this place is always a delight to fly into. The folk there are so friendly and you always get a great cuppa to drink while enjoying the history that is all around. Well done to all at NC flying club for making a great place to visit!

An historic Air Field ruined and made unsafe by "developers " when a different venue is possible madness !!!!why wind farms in our area ???? mega tons of water flow In and out the River Humber every day at times known years in advance and the energy is wasted , Wind when we get it !!

This airfield is a part of British Aviation's heritage and should be allowed to remain operational indefinitely for the use of all General Aviation Enthusiasts, flyers and non flyers alike.

Such a successful flying club should not be threatened by this project especially as there are alternative sites.

We was talking to a member of the club today & he mentioned the cost of running it,why don't you charge a small fee of £1 for the car park,put the charge on the parking notices payable at the cafe then you don't need anyone to collect the money & no queues for the cars coming in,just a thought as we were on our way home?

Although this appeal is not for appropriate  for general comments it does deserve a reply. Its a nice thought and one that has been mooted many times  but the club cannot make a charge on the gate as the land belongs to the New Tribes Mission. The clubs car park is on their land as is the overflow car park. To make profit through their charitable support is hardly fair or appropriate.
