I object to the construction and operation of BHP’s seawater desalination plant in the Upper Spencer Gulf. This slowly flushed marine region is ecologically unique and must be spared and protected from any pollution including the discharge of toxic desal brine.
I ask the operators of the Northern Water Project to either select a better flushed location for the desal plant or to develop a modern zero-liquid-discharge engineering solution.
