“Secure Spaces: Fences Around Parks for SEN Children”
Today, my son John, who has SEN, climbed over a low fence at a local park—I caught him just in time. This could have ended badly, and it highlights a real safety issue in our community. Proper, secure fencing would make parks a safe place not only for John but for all children, including those with special educational needs who may be more prone to wandering or running off. Fenced parks give children the freedom to play, explore, and socialize safely while giving parents peace of mind. Every child deserves a safe environment to enjoy their local park—help us make that a reality in Atherton.
