Petition: Say No to the Proposed Water Intrusion Policy

Dear Board of Directors,

We, the homeowners of the Courtyards at Mission Valley Association, strongly urge the Board to reject the proposed Water Intrusion Policy due to the severe financial and practical implications it poses for homeowners. The policy would lead to:

Excessive Financial Burden: Homeowners would face unreasonable costs, including a staggering $50,000 insurance deductible. ·

Unfair Responsibility Shift: Homeowners would unjustly bear the cost of water intrusion issues caused by HOA-controlled components.

Responsibility for Shared Plumbing Lines: Individual homeowners should not be responsible for maintaining or repairing shared plumbing lines, which are HOA-managed infrastructure. ·       

Long-Term Negative Impact: Declining property values, financial hardships, homeowner insurance problems, and legal disputes could arise without adequate safeguards. ·       

Lack of Transparency: The policy fails to involve homeowner input or promote shared accountability. ·       

Financial Mismanagement Concerns: This policy may be seen as an attempt to deflect responsibility for financial issues within the HOA.

We oppose the Board's decision to restate the Governing Documents and Election Rules without homeowner input, as it disregards transparency and community involvement.

We respectfully request a comprehensive review of this proposal and the inclusion of homeowner perspectives before making any decisions. Protect homeowners from unfair and unnecessary financial strain.
