Save Reedswood Park

We, the undersigned call on Walsall Council to reject plans to build on Reedswood Park in order to protect and preserve this important community green space and to avoid serious problems caused through drastically increased traffic congestion.

We strongly oppose the proposed development of a school on the part of the park which was the former golf course as it would mean the irreversible loss of valuable green space and the destruction of natural habitats that support local wildlife. The surrounding infrastructure is already under pressure, with increased traffic, limited parking, and road safety risks. A new school at this site would drastically worsen these issues. We believe that if there is a proven need for a new secondary school in the Borough there are alternative sites available, including the former Sneyd School.
