SAMA EXTRA ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

We, the undersigned full members of the South African Medical Association call upon the board of the South African Medical Association to accept and enact the notice for an extra ordinary general meeting (EGM) of the South African Medical Association. The purpose of the EGM is to reverse the decision taken by the board to disestablish the trade union, and to evaluate and correct the current SAMA structure, governance, functions and representation in accordance with the relevant Acts of parliament.

The board in its communications to the national councillors and later to the members did not give any reasons for the disestablishment of the trade union but alluded to the fact that they had not setup the structures as per the trade union constitution.
