Road accidents caused by stray animals on highways

Urgent Need for Stray Animal Management on Indian Highways to Prevent Accidents

*To:* Honourable Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India

*We, the undersigned, urge the Government of India to take immediate action to address the growing concern of stray animals on Indian highways, which is resulting in numerous accidents, injuries, and fatalities.*

Every year, thousands of road accidents occur in India due to stray animals on highways, causing irreparable loss to families and the economy. The absence of effective animal control measures and lack of infrastructure to prevent animal-human conflict on highways have exacerbated the problem.

*We demand:*

1. Implementation of effective stray animal management systems, including animal birth control measures, relocation, and rehabilitation.
2. Installation of animal detection systems and warning signs on highways to alert drivers.
3. Construction of animal-proof fencing and corridors to prevent animals from entering highways.
4. Increased penalties for reckless driving and littering, which contribute to stray animal populations.
5. Collaboration with animal welfare organizations and local communities to develop and implement effective solutions.

*We request the Government of India to take concrete steps to address this critical issue and ensure the safety of all road users.*

*Sign this petition to demand action and help prevent accidents caused by stray animals on Indian highways.*
