Protect Darcus Howe Apartments

Over the past year, our brand new building has been seriously neglected — not due to age, but due to the repeated misconduct of a few residents and the lack of response from Notting Hill Genesis.

The facts:

  • The main front door was broken for over six months, after being damaged by unsupervised children. This left the building exposed and unsafe.

  • Children have been allowed to draw on walls, remove exit signs, and leave food waste in lifts and communal areas — turning shared spaces into health hazards.

  • The garage gate has been left broken for months, allowing homeless individuals to enter, use drugs, and engage in sexual activity in a space meant to be secure.

  • Gang-affiliated visitors have entered the building freely, smoking cannabis in hallways and causing residents to feel unsafe.

  • One resident has been charging an electric bike using communal electricity, forcing others to unfairly cover the cost.

  • The side door magnetic lock is broken, further exposing residents to trespassers.

  • Security, cleanliness, and respect for communal areas are no longer being upheld.

Despite complaints, photo evidence, and a request for action, Notting Hill Genesis has failed to protect its residents or enforce tenancy rules on those repeatedly causing damage and disruption.

✊ We, the residents of Darcus Howe Apartments, are calling for:

  • Immediate action from Notting Hill Genesis to address all safety, security, and hygiene concerns.

  • Accountability for the individuals responsible for damage and antisocial behaviour.

  • Restoration of security features, including the garage gate and side door lock.

  • A safer, cleaner, and more respectful environment for all residents.

It is unfair that a handful of households are allowed to degrade our shared home while the majority of residents suffer. We deserve better.

📢 Let’s come together and demand the action we deserve. Sign the petition today to help make our building safe again.
