PETITION TO URGENTLY PRIORITISE ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADES IN WARD 105

We, the undersigned residents of Ward 105 in Brakpan, hereby petition the HOD for Energy in the City of Ekurhuleni to urgently prioritise electrical infrastructure upgrades within our ward. Our community has been experiencing continuous and prolonged power outages due to an ageing, poorly maintained electrical grid.

The current state of the infrastructure is unreliable and no longer capable of meeting the needs of residents and local businesses.

We therefore call on the Energy Department to:

- Prioritise the repair and replacement of faulty, damaged, and ageing infrastructure.

- Implement preventative maintenance measures to avoid recurring outages, and

- Provide a clear timeline for the planned upgrades and repairs. Reliable electricity is essential for household safety, economic activity, education, and overall community well-being.

We request immediate intervention to ensure stable and consistent power supply to Ward 105
