Petition to Provo City Council In Opposition of a Waterpark at Slate Canyon

We, the undersigned members of the District 2 neighborhoods, request the city keep their commitment to the residents of Provo City, and to District 2 residents in particular, to build the Slate Canyon Park as proposed in 2023.  Additionally we oppose the building of a hotel, retail space and water park, at the mouth of Slate Canyon. We respectfully petition the Provo City Council to deny any surplusing of land, sale of land or change in zoning of the land owned by Provo City at or surrounding Slate Canyon and its trailhead except to provide a city park as provided by the General Plan. We understand it may take longer to build the park but prefer to keep the park/trailhead area as it currently exists until such as time as the park may be built.
