Petition to not have hybrid classes for ISC batch of 12 of GDB

A Anon gdb · IN

ISC students require a full academic year of in-person classes to ensure they receive the structured learning necessary for essay-based and numerical subjects, which rely on detailed explanations, interactive discussions, and proper note-taking. The ISC curriculum is designed to test analytical skills, conceptual clarity, and detailed writing—none of which can be effectively developed through online classes. Subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Economics, and Accountancy require real-time problem-solving and immediate clarification of doubts, while subjects like English and History demand in-depth discussions and structured essay-writing practice. Humanities subjects like history, sociology, mass communication and fashion Designing are primarily dependent of note taking and conceptual understanding, which is extremely difficult to follow through an online medium

Online learning, no matter how well-organized, cannot replicate the engagement of a classroom, where direct teacher-student interaction, peer discussions, and immediate feedback play a crucial role. Given these academic challenges, it is unfair to further hinder students’ education due to school renovations—especially when they will not even have the opportunity to benefit from these changes given that this is their last academic year in the school, by the time something fruitful comes out of these renovations these students will already be appearing for their board exams if not gone from here completely. While infrastructural improvements are important, they should not come at the cost of academic stability, particularly for students preparing for a rigorous board examination. A balanced approach is necessary—one that prioritizes both education and development without disadvantaging those who need structured learning the most.
