Limit Vacation Rentals to Ease Housing Crisis!

 We have a major housing crisis in Penticton, and all over British Columbia. Thousands of people looking for rentals and only a handful of them are long term. We are seeing the market flooded with vacation/ short term rentals, leaving countless families fighting for a roof over their heads. There are also numerous families being evicted to accomodate more vacation rentals which is illegal according to RTB. Many of these go unreported due to lack of proof. The homeless situation needs to be addressed. 

My family of 4 happens to be one of the few who were evicted to accommodate a vacation rental and found the proof to negotiate compensation but we are still fighting to find a home and could potentally be on the streets. I believe there needs to be a limit on how many rentals can be vacation rentals. I plan to get this petition to the City of Penticton and the media. Change needs to happen.
