Keep It Loud: Save Punk Style at School!

Hey everyone,

We’re starting this petition because we don't want the style to be restricted by the new Hardin dress-code. Punk fashion—stuff like studded belts, safety pins, spiky jewelry (chokers and spiked bracelets)—is a way a lot of us express who we are. It’s not about trying to cause trouble. It’s just how we feel confident and different in a world that kinda wants everyone to look the same.

Not everyone’s into punk, and that’s totally fine. But this isn’t just about punk—it’s about freedom of style. Everyone deserves to dress in a way that makes them feel like themselves, as long as it’s not hurting anyone or being inappropriate.

We get that schools have rules for a reason, and we’re not asking to throw the whole dress code away. We just want a little more room to express ourselves without being dress coded for stuff that really doesn’t affect anyone else.

What We’re Asking For:

  • To wear punk-inspired accessories that are safe and not distracting

  • To be able to show our personalities through how we dress

  • To stop treating punk style like it’s a problem just because it’s different

What We’re NOT Asking For:

  • Dangerous stuff (like actual sharp pins or anything that could hurt someone)

  • Anything inappropriate or offensive

  • Total chaos (we just want to look cool, not burn the school down )

If you believe people should be allowed to be themselves without being dress coded for it, sign this petition and help us show that punk—and all styles—deserve a place at Hardin High School.

Thanks for standing up for self-expression and helping to keep punk alive✊🤘
