Re: matric shame

The publication of results serves in no way to demotivate nor shame students.
Failling is a process not an event, you have a whole year knowing you'll be writing that final exam, and the outcomes will be determined by your efforts, determination and the work you put in, no one nor anything should be held liable for the deaths that have occured in the event of the day the results are released.
Alternatives have been put in place for those that have not succeeded, such as Suplementary papers in Feb/Mar, and the opportunity to upgrade your marks throughout the year.
Students should be motivated to work hard, whilst other students are working and puting in the extra hours and sleepless nights, others are procrastinating and relaxing, the outcomes of that will be utterly different.

Fair point well made realist but Not everyone is the same. Yet students are expected to take the same exams. Nothing we can do about that but the least they can do it keep people's privacy private. Basic human right

Releasing a student's statement fully to the public, would be a violation, the publication of results is merely for statistical purposes, what about other students who work hard all year to obtain distinctions? Just to prove the rest of the world they're capable, not just distinctions but a mere bachelors pass.
We were made to manifest the glory of God, 'Our biggest fear is not that we are inadequate, our biggest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure, it is our light not our darkness that frigthens us' that basically means each and every student is more than capable, MORE THAN CAPABLE, so that aren't are either mentally disabled or work well with their hands and they're are schools made especially for those particular students.
If you are in a normal school and you attend with normal people for a full year, learning the same things taught by the same person, but still the results differ drastically, then you're doing something wrong. Yes they're students who are intellectuals by nature that's God gift, and they are those whom are moderate, the moderate has to put in the extra hours and help and work at all times, because he/she is capable. The biggest problem students face is mediocrity which stops students from achieving the most outstanding results.

I really think the puclicatoon of matric results should stop because it is actually very personal and sensitive information of a student that should be kept private unless the student is willing to have his/her results shown in public. This is in actual fact a violation of the right to privacy and it must stop

Alternatively people who have done exceptionally well could have their results published since they want recognition for their hardwork.. No one wants the whole world to know that they didn't make it nor did they pass well
