This is an unnecessary intrusion unto an area of outstanding natural beauty. It adds to the creeping urbanisation of the Elham Valley which has an inadequate road (width and surface condition especially for cyclists) and also adds to likely pollution..

I am at a loss to explain the thinking behind allowing this ridiculous " caravan park ". It is obvious that Shepway Planning Dept have not made any effort to actually assess the situation. The area was under water for several months last year, and I have no doubt it will be again next time we have any serious rain, and, have no doubts, we will..

1)Water supply and sewage removal will put a further strain on the area. 2)The site is on a flood plain. 3)The Elham Valley is a recognized area of outstanding beauty. 4)The road is not up to the standards for this sort of development. 5) Judging by the closeness of the foundation pads that have been put in place no screening has been taken into consideration or planned.

Because the point about AONB's is that their "natural" beauty must be protected and this has been ignored so far in the planning of this site.

As Iv said many times, there wasn't any consultation from SDC about the change from a normal Caravan and Tent camping site, the 28 day Max stay etc the whole status has changed regarding the campsite. Finally it's totally unsuitable in an AONB.

THis development is completely inappropriate given the location of the site within an AONB and the fact it is in a flood plain. There isn't the infrastructure to support this and it is entirely out of keeping with the local area.

Elham Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty as well as scientific staus. The Nailbourne is likely to floof part of the site. What arrangements have been made for sewage etc. Access onto the Elham Valley Road is likely to be dangerous as it does not take the width of a caravan and large commercial vehicle/local bus to pass. A number of serious accidents have taken place at this junction (Palm Tree public house area)

It is an outrageous decision to allow a 45 caravan park in the heart of this AoONB. This will spoil the beautiful Elham Valley. Have the planners considered that it a natural flood plain and that it could cause problems with flooding in the future? This part of the river floods very regularly as all locals know! Any work to prevent this would have an adverse effect on the natural environment/wildlife and could cause other unforeseen problems. Has an Ecological Report been submitted on this application? On this point alone it should have been refused.

In an area of outstanding natural beauty this will be over large and semi permanent (rather then seasonable), unscreened from the road and on a previously grassed, unscreened and most obviously on a flood plain.

This proposal is totally inappropriate in a flood plain and with a very narrow access road where lorries and buses can already not pass each other. It is disgraceful the way this was not advertised for local residents to comment.

I live in the Elham Valley and consider that this scheme is totally inappropriate for the area, as well as the fact that people cannot possibly lived for 11 months of the year under such conditions as those proposed.

What a complete and utter disgrace!! Everyone should know that Shepway district council are responsible for allowing this is in the first case and allowing it to continue!! The whole issue breaches every one of their own rules and regulations!! DIABOLICAL!!!
