Once lost a historic site can never be regained. All the evidence also points to more efficient newer methods of green electricity generation.

This is ridiculous...there are far too many windfarms popping up all over the countryside and far to many airfields being lost throughout the uk. If you must have windfarms then build them somewhere sensible that does not affect the livelyhoods and enjoyment of others. Recreational activities such as flying should not under any circumstances be compromised by such ugly and unnecessary developments.

This proposed location of this site is dangerous. It will impact on the lives are many local people and is totally unnecessary

This airfield is run by volunteers who work very hard on the up keep;
In this area of Lincolnshire (north cotes) this airfield and its activities open days fly ins which include local car clubs motor cycle clubs and other attractions,
This brings a people from a wide area giving pleasure to thousands over the years, not to mention the up keep of one of UK oldest airfields being well cared for at no cost to the tax payer.

As a regular user of this airfield I feel the wind turbines will compromise safety.

Windfarms will have their day and will go once they are no longer subsidised. An airfield cannot operate with windfarms on its approaches. Once an airfield has gone it has usually gone for ever. On a personal level, North Coates is one of my favourite destinations. I fly to it several times a year. Then there is the historic aspect. Wanton destruction of such an airfield is unforgivable.

Wind turbines are needed and their location has to be carefully considered to not create a hazard to aircraft. There is therefore no excuse to place a construction compound within the under or over shoot of an active airfield even if temporary.

Why attempt to destroy a valuable asset to the whole community.When there are so many alternative windfarm sites available there is no justification for this proposed development.(except of course abject greed !!!]

Far too many small airfields are falling prey to developers which is not acceptable.
It is important to maintain as many of these small airfields as possible in the interest of aviation and future of the industry.

There is plenty of land which does not affect the airfield, don't close down an important facility.

North Coates is an historic and important natural amenity. Planners must protect such places when considering such intrusive developments.

There are other sites available for the wind-farm that would not cause such a great loss to the flying community.

To the Developers, please have more consideration for the operational requirements of North Coates Airfield, especially if another site could be used where its impact on the airfield could be minimised.

I see the need for renewable energy and support it strongly in general but, as an aviator and a visitor to North Coates I feel the need to point out that these proposals could be dangerous to less experienced pilots and the proposed siting should take into account the need for safety at what can only be described as the national historical treasure that this airfield represents. Come on planners - pull your socks up and do some sound thinking, we can co-exist if the will exists as it does with aviators.

Save our heritage

I flew into North Coates from Northumberland in May and intend to visit again soon. North Coates supports the local economy and is a valuable local asset as well as of course being a historic airfield.

Flight safety is important.

The wind farm industry is not doing itself any favours by alienating the population. The hostility towards GA in the UK is unbelievable which is a shame for a country with a rich and colourful Aviation heritage.
