The addition of a gold border ties the helmet and tradition into the uniform while seperating it from texas techs red raider uniforms.

The jersey looks better with the gold in it. 49ers represents gold so the alternative jersey needs gold or more gold in it.

Put some gold on these new Jerseys.. Red and gold is there colors not black and red.. I think if u out lined the numbers with gold the jersey would look even BETTER.

I quickly designed this version because at first glance it was clear that even though these new alternates were so far from tradition, they're even further from the RGB moniker the organization tried to label them as. If our style must evolve to include black as a dominate part of our identity, care must be taken in the design to ensure there's no doubt in an opponent's mind who they've come to play that Sunday. Red GOLD & Black.

I agree that the gold makes it look better and it also supports the true 49er colors. I think it would make a lot of true fans happy and it will definitely sell... Red and Gold baby!

I was so excited to see the new jerseys until I laid my eyes on them and was disappointed because my first thought was the numbers needed to be outlined in gold and the outline of the letters for their last names. I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this.

I love the gold color scheme in the uniforms. Change is ok but tradition is what a lot of people value.
