This removal of rational discourse in the deliberation of principles, opinions, and legal propositions is a severe blow to the desire for a properly functioning modern society. The Sultan system is being used for narrow political ends, to the detriment of the institution and the long-term legitimacy of government. This is the ultimate Sedition. It is hard to understand Malaysia taking bizarre positions in the last few years that depart so much from global practices and norms. |
