STOP TRASHING OUR BUFFALO CITY METRO

This "I DONT CARE" attitude by the metro and its employees has got to stop.

Please remove our refuse.

What do you expect when the "speaker" sets the example of parking in a disabled bay when he and his passenger are clearly not disabled, and then responds to the the challenge with disgusting language. Such arrogance is appaling.

Enough is enough

I am ashamed of our roads and in general the way the city is looking at the moment.

The service should be privatised. That way there will be competition for the job and if it is not done properly then it can be giving to someone else to do the job and the rates may improve too. The same goes for the roads in East London that are falling apart. It may help get rid of the unions that cause more problems than anything else.

Unemployment will remain high if there is not strong leadership to resolve problems amicably while corruption is condoned at the highest level from the President down.

It is not fair that the Metro's citizens are held ransom and left to fend for themselves and even having their lives being put at risk. The employees have a right to put their demands on the table and even protest as long as it is understood that this is subject to negotiation and that petitioning is peaceful and non-disruptive. It would seem that the employees make a decision about the outcome of negotiation before even giving negotiations a chance. Withdrawal of labour is the worst form of strike cause it' always has very serious consequences. As residents of this metro we should use all the tools at our disposal including the media to make our voices heard as we live in a constitutional democracy.

The unions should be treated as terrorists, they are holding this country to ransom. We should not negotiate with terrorists!

This situation is disgusting for a so called METRO municipality. ELS does not deserve to be a METRO at all and need to be downgraded to the lowest category. What a rainbow nation!!!!

I have sympathy with the workers, but they must also realize that they voted the current leadership into power. The lack of leadership is evident through out this country.The unions and their people must in this country look beyond colour and race and start to be responsible and accountable to society as a whole. We cannot just trash and burn when things don't go our way. Why don't we take our anger and frustrations and turn them into calculated open negotiations. The country and our city needs educated quality leadership at all levels. We will never be free as long as we have individuals who only have their own interest at hart and will achieve this at all cost. 20 Years of a democratic free country and we are on the verge of total collapse, ANC,DA,IFP,COPE and all the political parties is promising us everything we want, not one will stand up and say, nothing in live is for free and the money government spends is not theirs but actually the hard working tax-payers. We all need to re-look at how we contribute to the lawlessness and violence in our country and re-align and correct our ways. The unions has great power and therefore should take that and ensure through peaceful negotiations that they lift the corrupt and undeserving political figures from their current positions and replace them with people who has the necessary qualifications and knowledge to manage our cities. After 20yrs race, colour or nationality should not blind us, if we continue on this road there will be nothing left to strike about. We will be left with an empty shell whilst the people currently in-charge has filled their pockets and bank accounts will watch on TV from their hide-outs how we kill and rape each other.
Think with your head and not with your heart.

While the employees of BCM may have a legitimate complaint, no matter how frustrated, their behave is totally unacceptable. Follow the legal remedies available like mature responsible adults.They are destroying property paid for by ratepayers. Those guilty of arson etc. should be fired and criminally charged.

I hope they take heed of this. We all pay our rates and taxes and our city is looking terrible.

It is an absolute disgrace. I recently had to fetch businessmen from the airport and chose to drive the old Buffalo Pass Route to save myself the embarrassment of having to explain how we allow this to happen to our City.

It's disgusting! Our government has had years of grace and chances to make our country a better one to live in and its just getting worse!! People are starving, homeless and dying and our municipal "workers" are worried about things like 14th cheques?! Wake up people! This country has MUCH bigger problems opposed to your 14th bloody cheque! There's a fine line between democracy and barbaric behavior and our government is not doing anything about the problems at hand. Stop making promises and deliver! Don't promise if they re-elect you things will change, change them now! Earn your trust and give us faith in you!!

what happens if we all withhold payment of the refuse portion of the bcm account?
