Brokers hold OACIQ accountable for hidden membership fees- 2013

This is another money grab to pay for the staff's high salaries and expensive office building. They are killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. Typical situation, like we see with the city of montreal.

Good that we are finally in standing up for our rights. I would be interested in seeing the expense(salaries vs revenues)

The time has come we need to get together and caravan down to OACIQ and protest in front of the building and let our voices be heard once and for all and invite the media ..... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!!

Absolutely right. OAICQ fees are very high. Absolutely the organization should not charge additional fees (tuition fees are additional fees)
& Fees should be lowered.

Please it is already stressful for keeping all the expenses, and loosing a day and such money should not forced to broker who are in financial difficulties as you know it. Keep it simple but care more of our business affaire.

I am very pleased to realize that we finally are weaking up and stop OACIQ from stealing money from us by obliging us to take all kinds of unnessary training courses in order for them to
have more of our money to spend for each of them.

It's about time, we put our foot down and not let OACIAQ "bully" us again and again to pay for courses! We paid high enough fees worked our "butt" off to earn a decent living. Not everybody could make it in this business, especially in this present market situation. We are paying all kinds of fees already: to OACIQ; to our respective Real Estate Boards; for our Affiliation fees to our respective Agencies; notwithstanding all other expenses incurred in office fees, advertising & promotion, gas, which are quite high, depreciation of our cars and the time spent on the road with the clients, sacrificing our quality time with our family in order to earn a decent living! We are treated as the "money bags" by all the organizations we belong to, to dip in, whenever they need money. Do they think we don't know anything about our profession? That we need to take more courses from somebody they assign to teach who can't even deliver the course properly? Each time we go to these "time wasted" courses, we lose sales and clients! If OACIQ thinks that we need to take these courses to improve our "??knowledge??", OACIQ should "invite" us for free and not charge us! This continuous dipping into our pockets for these unnecessary ongoing "mandatory courses" is unacceptable! Enough is enough! WHOEVER STARTED THIS PETITION, SHOULD BE CONGRATULATED! MORE POWER TO YOU!

Same action should be taken against the GMREB etc. for the increased advertising costs. They should respect their budgets!

Absolutely abusive fees OACIQ is like a brutal dictator threatening every single member with cancellation of permit if they do not comply. Government backed, no conscious conservation for how hard it is to make a living ing the only profession that has no salary guarantee or pension. I would like to know how many new permits were issued in the last 2 years against how may permits we lost in the last 4 years. It's time we start asking some serious questions about how our organization is being managed.

Congratulations on your effort! While you are at bat, you may also want to take a look at medical insurance fees and the cost of frofessional insurance.

No way as we are on commission and not salaried!

75$ dollars plus taxes is what I had to pay because of the new forms. Is not justifiable. We really need to do something. OACIQ employees are not qualified and lack professionalism. But what an amazing building they have.

For a non profitable organization these millions of dollars in mandatory courses should be reimbursed on our licence fees. Also no member of any organization should be threatened by losing their licence when they have done nothing wrong to merit such course of action. .......... Hail to the "KING"
