We are taught to respect the death for giving them a peaceful and grave place to stay on. I just don't get the purpose to place a columbarium at such highly-crowded residential area. I know it is not fair to say HDB did it for profit making as it can earn more to award it for shopping mall or some other commercial purpose, but for the existing residences and future residences around that area, we deserve to have an explanation of the purpose of this plan and we urge a more transparent disclosure of future development details.

It feels rather sneaky that the columbarium aspect was not highlighted clearly in housing plans for both Fernvale Lea and even in neighbouring estates surrounding the proposed temple/columbarium. Can't be that hundreds of residents missed this detail if it was clear as day. Time for governing bodies and Sengkang West MP to show some real heart by listening to residents, empathise and take some real action. - A very concerned future resident of Fernvale.

HDB might have stated the possibility of having a columbarium, but nowhere was funeral services or the likes mentioned.  This is utter misrepresentation.

Please reconsider the location of this temple/columbarium as our homes are the product of our hard work and having committed to the home, we feel very hard done by that this sort of announcement comes way after purchase of the property. I am sure there are more suitable locations for a columbarium in the North-East.

If there is really such thing building next to my future home, then all my family members will vote for who for the next election? Hate to hear this type of news. Didnt ask how we feel and made this decision. Shouldn't this be build near industry area or something?

Ridiculous to build a columbarium in the middle of a housing estate. It was not made known when we applied for our house. If I had known I would not have applied in this area. Please relocate the columbarium to a remote area.

I do respect to the dead.. i dont mind a temple but not a temple with columbarium. And Why did HDB put this as a fine print! it should stated clearly in the brochure! This is so misleading! And i suppose this company is just using temple as a cover up. Since they provide funeral services and associated services! it should be consider as commercial & not "Place of Worship"! Place of Worship is not meant for services with gains! I feel sooo uncomfortable when hearing this news! i've been visualising i will be facing this columbarium everyday!!!

We need more primary and secondary schools, childcare and kindagartens!! Think for the residents and living needs, not for this place where every morning people will sure to avoid!!
