Fix My Traffic Lights

This petition has been created to bring the issue of hijacked traffic lights at various key intersections of Johannesburg to the urgent attention of the Gauteng Provincial Government.

Currently, several traffic lights at intersections, such as Winnie Mandela and the N1 highway and Douglas drive and Witkoopen road, have been dysfunctional for months on end. These traffic lights have been vandalised and purposefully disengaged by vagrants with the intent of soliciting 'tips' from road users.

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport have shown little to no interest in attending to what amounts to a critical issue of public saftey and criminal activity.

This petition serves as a means to hold the relevant government departments and their ministers to account.
