Change Oct. 31st ‘25 Football game date to a sooner date

Senior students of Columbia High School, along with our families, fellow classmates, and supportive faculty, respectfully request that the Senior Night football game currently scheduled for Friday, October 31st, 2025 (Halloween) be moved to an earlier or later date.

This year’s Senior Night is incredibly important to us, as it represents one of our final opportunities to be celebrated for our hard work, dedication, and school spirit. However, October 31st is also Halloween — a cherished night for many students, including seniors, to enjoy a final childhood tradition before stepping into adulthood.

Beyond the senior class, many teachers, staff members, and families with young children will also be impacted by this scheduling conflict. Halloween is a special night for families to spend time together, whether trick-or-treating, hosting gatherings, or participating in community events.

Changing the date would allow:

• Seniors and their families to fully enjoy both Senior Night and Halloween.
• Faculty and staff to spend meaningful time with their children.
• Increased attendance and enthusiasm at the football game, unburdened by conflict with a major holiday.

We understand that scheduling events can be complex, but with consideration and support, we believe a rescheduled Senior Night would benefit the broader Columbia High community. Please help us make this celebration inclusive and enjoyable for all by supporting this petition.

(Any date that isn't Saturday November 1st is acceptable because the CHS band does have their final competition that day so the Thursday before would be better bet where nothing is interrupted and our band seniors can participate in senior night and successfully play in the competition)
