Balmedie public transport disaster

Balmedie Residents Escalate Bus Service Crisis to National Transport Regulator
Residents of Balmedie and surrounding Aberdeenshire communities have formally escalated concerns over persistent bus cancellations and delays affecting routes between Aberdeen, Peterhead and Fraserburgh.
The services, operated by Stagecoach Group, have reportedly experienced ongoing reliability problems for several years, with residents stating that the situation has significantly worsened in recent months.
A formal regulatory complaint will be submitted to the Traffic Commissioner for Scotland, requesting an investigation into punctuality performance and compliance with registered timetables.
Residents state that the impact on the community is substantial:
Workers regularly arrive late and risk disciplinary action or lost income
Pupils travelling to Ellon Academy face repeated delays
Elderly residents are increasingly isolated
Households without cars face transport exclusion
Medical appointments are missed
After sending official complaint and raising concerns to Aberdeenshire Council, I were informed that no direct intervention would be undertaken, prompting escalation to national level.
The residents have requested publication of punctuality data and confirmation of what regulatory steps will be taken if performance standards are not being met.
