Bail for Rob Evans

Everyone in South Africa is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Trial will decide his fate.
Despite seen and known as a suspect from the day Vanessa van Rensburg's body was found on the lounge floor of his Oyster Bay holiday home, family man and business owner Rob Evans gave his full co-operation from day one.

Evans, 58, charged with the murder of Van Rensburg, his longterm girlfriend, was arrested as he was the only person present when she was found unconscious on April 20.
Evans was being charged with kidnapping and attempted murder and obstructing the ends of justice.

Nothing has been proven valid in a court of law.
Evans is sorely missed in the workplace of his Newton Park-based business Algoa Plastics and at home.
Granting him bail is in the interest of justice.
Evans has been incarcerated since May 9. His bail application started in the Humansdorp Regional Court on May 16.

Evans is currently facing a charge of murder and is in the midst of his bail application.
He has never before been accused of any criminal wrongdoing nor has there ever been a protection order or similar action sought against him. His impeccable record speaks volumes about his character.

As an employer and friend, he is respected, admired, and cherished by many.
The tragedy involving Van Rensburg is undeniably devastating, particularly for her children, family, and all those who cared deeply about her.
Evans has consistently maintained his innocence from the outset and has been fully cooperative throughout the investigation process, never attempting to evade justice or interfere with evidence or witnesses.

He firmly believes in the fundamental principle that every citizen is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
Bail is not a form of punishment nor an indication of guilt, but a constitutional right allowing an individual to defend themselves appropriately. Robert respects our judicial system deeply and trusts that justice will prevail.

By signing this petition, you support Evans' fundamental right to fair treatment, his opportunity to continue being present for his family, and the  upholding of constitutional values that benefits every citizen in our society.

Let the trial court determine his fate.
