Petition for African Union Action: Stop the Genocide in Sudan Now

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned citizens calling for immediate action to address the escalating crisis and genocide in Sudan. As Africans united in solidarity, we urge the African Union (AU) to urgently amplify its voice and action to protect civilians in Sudan.
The Crisis:
Innocent men, women, and children in Sudan are suffering atrocities fueled by ethnic and political violence, displacement, and starvation. Despite some media coverage, the scale of suffering is not receiving the attention it demands. Lives are being lost, communities destroyed, and entire generations scarred—due to greed, impunity, and a failure to act.
Our Demand:
As a South African deeply concerned about the unity and dignity of Africa, we call on the African Union to:
1. Publicly condemn and acknowledge the violence and alleged genocide in Sudan, naming perpetrators and holding them accountable.
2. Demand an immediate ceasefire and unhindered humanitarian access to protect civilians and deliver aid.
3. Support regional and international mechanisms to investigate, prosecute, and prevent further atrocities.
4. Mobilize African solidarity to pressure all parties to prioritize peace, justice, and the protection of human life.
Africa’s strength lies in its unity. Silence in the face of suffering betrays our collective humanity. The AU has a mandate to safeguard our people. We stand with Sudanese civilians demanding an end to violence, accountability, and a future free from fear.
We, citizens of Africa and allies, demand the AU act NOW to prevent further bloodshed. Add your voice to this call. Share widely. Together, we can amplify pressure for justice.
An injury to one is an injury to all and I use this slogan from our apartheid history, if we intend in building an Africa that will thrive, that will conquer past experiences we need to stand united against atrocities we allow to be inflicted on ourselves by the assistance of foreing presence
We have a shared history, we should drive Pan africanism. Let's reject foreign interference on our people, gather as Africans because unity is strength.
