PETITION FOR THE REMOVAL OF WARD 8 COUNCILLOR, MR EDDY MASHEGO

Subject: Petition for the Removal of Ward 8 Councillor, Mr Eddy Mashego

We, the undersigned residents of Ward 8, comprising Dwarsloop Phase 1, Dwarsloop Phase 2, Dwarsloop Blackfas (Matshilapata), Ga-Motibidi, and Boikhutso, hereby submit this petition calling for the removal of Ward 8 Councillor, Mr Eddy Mashego.

Our request is based on the following concerns:

1. Poor service delivery and failure to address community needs.

2. Lack of communication and accountability to residents.

3. Failure to create and advocate for youth employment opportunities.

4. Insufficient support for women's empowerment initiatives.

5. Failure to effectively address crime and community safety concerns.

6. Lack of meaningful intervention regarding Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

7. Allegations of unfair treatment and disrespect towards community members.

8. Failure to represent the interests and priorities of Ward 8 residents.

9. Lack of transparency regarding municipal development projects and opportunities.

10. Continued dissatisfaction among residents regarding leadership and performance.

As residents of Ward 8, we believe that effective leadership should prioritize community development, accountability, transparency, and service delivery. We have lost confidence in the leadership of Mr Eddy Mashego and therefore respectfully request that the ANC and Bushbuckridge Local Municipality investigate these concerns and take appropriate action, including considering his removal as Ward 8 Councillor.

We further request a formal response to this petition and a community engagement meeting to address the concerns raised.
