Petition City of Tshwane to repair streetlights in Ward 83

Progress on petition

After many months of delays, we were informed on short notice to attend the petitions committee. The notice was less than 24 hours instead of the prescribed 7 days.

After waiting for more than six hours, we were invited to the meeting. The chair person then announced that the petition was not supposed to be on the agenda and there were no officials present at the meeting.

I expressed the communitie's frustration that this matter did not receive the attention it deserves after 9 months in the hands of the officials.

Only a limited number of streetlights were repaired.

We will keep on pressuring the city to repair all streetlights
